Course Summary
This epilepsy awareness and Buccal Midazolam training course is aimed at those working with or responsible for the well-being and welfare of individuals with epilepsy. This epilepsy training course will give you an understanding of the causes and triggers of a seizure and also explain what to do in the event of a seizure. You will be competent in when and how to administer Buccal Midazolam / Epistatus rescue medication in accordance with the client’s Seizure management Care Plan.
What’s Covered
- give examples of how epilepsy can affect a person
- list the actions to take to support someone during a seizure
- describe the procedure to administer emergency medication
- identify safe management of emergency medication, including storage and disposal
- explain actions to take if problems occur during administration
- identify key aspects of any policies, procedures, and responsibilities relating to the medication
- Maximum of 16 candidates per course
